How much for brakes for a 92 Corolla?

Just had new pads and rotors put on the front two weeks ago...but, now one side is completely shot. I think a caliper froze up on me. So, now it needs new pads and rotors (again!), plus calipers. I was told $1,100 by the place that did the brakes the first time -- and that's AFTER the original parts were comped by the warranty. Please help! I know it shouldn't cost anywhere close to that, but I have no idea what to expect as I shop around other mechanics.
