What to get her?

I wanna buy a gift for my ex-teacher. She's the one who got me into reading and writing, and she recently told me that she needed some new books for her and her son to read. I was thinking of buying her a new book (Inkheart, one of my favorites) and inscribing something like she did to one of my favorite books before I graduated. I thought this was a great idea, but was wondering what everyone else would think.
