What are some good Thai/sushi restaurants in South Florida? SOBE OR FT. LAUDERDALE AREA?

I am looking for good quality food, $$, nice atmosphere, on beach if possible, not cramped restaurant. My significant other and I have never eaten sushi, so we want to make sure it is a good place with good food. I live near Aventura, Fl and I have been to the Thai house II, Hiros, etc. I wanted to get away maybe to South Beach, Ft. Lauderdale Beach, or Mainstreet (Miami Lakes). I know there is a Sushi Siam in South Beach and a few other Thai restaurants in Ft. Lauderdale. Anyone have any recommendations?
