Does weather affect hair loss?

Well i live in Anaheim California, and the weather is so on and off. Like, it gets super cold then super hot. Today there is some fire going on i don't know.. like usually i would lose 10 hairs when i comb or brush my fingers through my hair a day. But, today it's so continuously. I've been using the same shampoo for a year and everything was fine. (Head and Shoulders) The weather is so dry and i feel sick. or am i just stressing out to much? that causes hair loss.
