I have an 05 v6 mustang, would upgrading the brakes to the Mustang Gt help me stop faster?

The caliper is the same size and system for both. The only difference is the placement of the bracket to hold the caliper and the rotor is a little over an inch bigger in diameter. Would this really help, becuase I put 18 inch rims on and stopping is much more difficult now. Thanks
