What kind of dog would be best for me?

Ever since I was a little kid I've wanted a puppy/dog, like most other children. So finally after years of trying to convince my parents, they eventually agreed. They told me to list of a few type of breeds that are suitable for our life style. I needed a breed that was hypoallergenic, or sheds little, requires minimal walks, and is an overall and friendly, family dog. After doing some research, I found some breeds that I think could fit the requirements. The Pomeranian, Maltese, West Highland White Terrier,and Morkie/Yorktese (Maltese and Yorkshire Terrier) However, I've only read information off of the internet and thought that it might be better to hear opinions from experienced owners. No mean answers please :)
