FMF corpsman vs. a national guard combat medic?

where will I see the most action in the medical field: as an FMF corpsman, or as a combat medic? And how much action will I see in either field, being that I am a woman? Please... don't get all ist on me how "women can't do this or that" I just want to be out there with our guys making sure everything is fine and dandy. I'd put my life on the line for these guys; just to make sure we get our **** done and come back safely. Can anyone with military experience help me out? How can I become an FMF corpsman and how long do you think it would take to get schooling and such out of the way? Also, roughly how many women do they let participate in this field of FMF corpsman?
