Can I switch from my mother to father for custodial parent?

My mother wants to move me 9 hours away this summer from where I live now. I'm 16 and will be 17 and a senior in High School in the fall. My parents are divorced but my mom has full legal/physical custody. I want to switch to my Dad for my custodial parent and stay with him here where I currently live. Is there any way I can go about this and how? I have never been trouble, my grades are excellent, I play sports and am involved in many school activities and clubs. Any info helps, thanks:)
